Cognito has coined this package as the 'Super Stock Kit'. Since you can not add a leveling kit to the trucks, this package will improve the stock truck via better ride and improved longevity. Read on to hear why and how.

The 2500HD AT4X and ZR2 already comes 'leveled' from the factory via torsion bar and torsion key clocking. These models are coming the same size in the front as our 3" leveling kit on the other models. Of course you have already noticed that the truck is not level, and that is due to GM adding a 1.5" tall lift block to the rear. The OEM upper control arms, knuckles, and lower control arms are all new and specifically designed for this model. THe OEM upper arm has a modified ball joint angle and is slightly longer in order to operate at this taller ride height. This model stock has tie rod angles are no longer flat with the centerlink and therefore GM has sent you down the road with a design that is prone to wearing the pitman and idler arms prematurely. The patented Cognito Pitman and Idler Arm Support kit is included in this package and will fix the flaw in the GM front steering system which will prevent premature pitman arm, idler arm, and front tire wear.

In stock form this truck has only 2" of droop travel in the front suspension, not enough to provide a good ride quality for anything more than going through a gutter or small dip. Cognito has figured out how to maximize the potential of the front suspension travel by determining the precise amount of spacer that can be added to the stock Multimatic DSSV front shocks in order to increase the droop travel to just over 3". This 50% increase in droop travel allows for more compliance through bumps and dips without getting the harsh feeling of the front shocks topping out.

To round out this package, included is the Cognito boxed sheet metal upper control arm kit specifically designed for these 2500HD AT4X and ZR2 models. Is this control arm kit necessary you ask? No it is not necessary since the OEM upper arms are already designed to run at this height. On the other hand they are necessary to display your unwillingness to conform to stock standards!
