The Back Country 2.0 leveling height kit for 2014+ Ram 2500 trucks offers incredible ride quality for the price. Using completely custom spec reservoir shocks front AND rear, Carli is able to produce a system that offers smooth on road ride, but with more control for heavy towing and off road usage than a standard smooth body non-reservoir shock could offer. The Backcountry level height system also maintains stock rear coils, which means you maintain stock payload and towing specs with this kit. This kit also features unique shock and coil tuning for both gas and diesel applications. 

The Carli SPEC 2" diameter shocks with remote reservoirs are custom tuned for the Ram application and around Carli's 2.5" front coils and stock rear coils. The result is a system that delivers comfortable and predictable on road handling, with a massive increase in off road comfort and capability compared to stock. While this system doesn't pack the all out off road capability of the 2.5" diameter King shock level system, it's perfect for people using their trucks for normal on and off road truck usage exploring dirt roads or visiting job sites. 

The remote reservoir Carli SPEC 2.0 boasts 6063 Aluminum construction, anodized body for corrosion resistance, 5/8″ hardened steel chrome plated shaft, full serviceability and rebuild ability and are built with 1-peice bushings in the 6061 billet rod-ends. These shocks are spec’d with a premium 5WT oil to balance lubricity, consistent damping and the widest available range in temperature variation. These are backed with a 1-year warranty, serviced by Carli.

UPGRADE OPTIONS:


Carli Torsion Sway bar is a is a great upgrade as it allows for easier articulation and smoother ride with single sided bumps. Instead of the stiff, stock sway bar throwing you out of your seat over ruts or in/out of driveways, a torsion sway bar will glide right over those features and allow the suspension to soak things up without transferring that energy to the cab. 

Carli Steering Stabilizers aren't necessary with stock size tires, but if you're running 35s or 37s, it's a great way to reduce steering feedback from the road as larger tires quickly overwhelm the stock steering stabilizer. Choose the high mount for aggressive mid terrain tires, the low mount for everything else, and the dual opposing setup for the best possible handling and least steering feedback. If you want more info on stabilizers, give this video a watch. Please note that high mount stabilizer options ONLY work with factory linkage. They are not compatible with Synergy steering.

Carli Radius Arms and Drops are not a mandatory upgrade. Carli radius arms offer additional strength, improved ride/articulation, and better tire clearance that factory. The drops flatten arm angle, and reduce any possible coil bow, but we usually save the drops for the 3.25" Carli coil systems. 

 
This system fits Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 trucks from 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023 with factory rear coil springs. We offer these systems for Ram 2500s with factory rear air suspension.
 
Wheel/Tire Recommendations: 

We recommend a 35” tire on a 18” wheel that’s no more than 9” wide with 0 to +27 offset for zero trimming with this level kit. To fit 37s on a Ram truck, we recommend a +12 to +27 offset wheel that is no wider than 9,” as well as some mild trimming of the plastic fender liner and maybe pinch weld depending on the tire. 

If you run larger than stock tires, please note that you need to adjust tire pressure accordingly. This video covers that process in detail, and is key to achieving proper ride quality and tire wear. The addition of a Carli Low-Mount Steering Stabilizer is recommended for any tire over factory size.

    Carli backcountry RAM 2500 leveling kit

    Ordered the Carli BC kit for my 2024 2500, CJC shipped the kit fast. I installed the kit myself with no issues, one thing I discovered is that you need an 1-3/4 crows foot wrench to properly torque the track bar and had to borrow one. READ the directions before you attempt the install and follow the directions. If you’re not using a lift, you need to put the truck on stands very high in order to let the axle drop enough to install the new springs. The rear shock install will require the inner fenders removal… I had an issue with one of the new shocks, called CJC and spoke to James… these guys don’t F—K around I had the replacement shock in my hand the next day, that’s right they overnighted the replacement shock.. who does that now days.

    I did have a steering stability warning come on which went away after the truck was aligned.

    Don’t hesitate doing business with CJC, these guys are awesome and my truck drivers 💯 better. My next upgrade will be the Thurn rear track bar to stabilize the rear axle. Carli is a great company and makes high quality parts, spend the money and do it right the first time.

    Had the rough country puck level with factory Bilstein shocks, switched over to Carli and was a night ans day difference, still a 2500 truck but you can definitely tell the difference in ride quality
